I’m not gonna lie – most of the music I have, I’ve downloaded for free, if you know what I mean. Recently, as I’ve started listening to more and more Asian music, the ratio of music I download that is actually has dropped sharply, as most Asian music isn’t copyrighted here in the US
– but still. I used to download whatever I felt like – whole albums, songs, anything, but lately, I’ve been feeling conscience pangs. So now, I mostly only download Asian music, and I only download Western music in the shape of single songs, and that only if I know that in future I won’t buy their CD because I really only like that one(or two) songs of theirs.
HOWEVER. The music that I already have from the past, I justify it by knowing that most of it I will end up buying in CD form later in life when I actually have money anyway – and I know this not just because it’s the right thing to do but also because I have an affinity for the actual, solid CD and CD cover – in my future house, there will be not only a room full of books, but in the living room there will also be a small bookcase devoted solely to my CDS(organized by genre) and another bookcase devoted to films(also organized by genre – none of this alphabetical nonsense).
